Future plans

District Wide Large Scale Assessment in Science and English Grade IV

PEAS plans to align classrooms with instructions, standards, curriculum and professional development and to give a holistic picture.

The method and procedure of the assessment will be same as adopted for D-WLSA (2011) Math, Social Studies and Language (Urdu) assessment.

Dissemination of PEAS Results

With the help of well targeted communication and dissemination framework, PEAS may disseminate its findings and recommendations for various groups of targeted audience to promote increased understanding of factors leading to student learning achievement and quality of education.

With the help of tri-media (audio, video and print media) PEAS has to make distinctive efforts to unpack and disaggregate information from the data and assessment findings to achieve relevance for various audiences.

Literacy and Numeracy Assessment for Class III

To assess a critical threshold for sustainable mastery of basic competencies such as literacy and numeracy benchmark (minimum standard) for Grade III students; a variety of assessment approaches allow learners to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding, skills, attributes and capabilities across the range of experiences and outcomes will be used.

Modeling Continuous Assessment (Traditional and Modern Type of Assessments) at Grass Root Level

PEAS data reveals that teachers are not proficient and their competency is very much essential to know about the proficiency level of pupil learning.

A practical guide for teachers in continuous assessment employing a variety of assessments; using a formative approach; emphasizing progress towards specific levels of mastery and provide construction feedback to pupils will be developed. By using this guide teachers will improve their competencies in continuous assessment.

Technical and Professional Support for Test Development

Since its establishment, PEAS has been conducting Cognitive Diagnostic Assessment (CDA) and has developed expertise in this field. To utilize and share expertise PEAS intends to develop a close liaison with sister organizations for quality of standardized tests to save money and time.

With the help of test development experts

Cognitive Diagnostic Assessment (CDA) of PEF, Danish and Private Sector Schools

Assessment plays an important role for quality of education. At present only paper-n-pencil and teacher made tests are used for norm reference which does not tell about proficiency and criterion of the students.

In addition to state-mandated examinations, PEAS intends to conduct Cognitive Diagnostic Assessment (CDA) by using different assessment methods and techniques including contextual variables to support PEF, Danish for improving the quality of education.

Technical and Academic Support to Teacher Training Institutes (TTIs)

Currently in pre-service education there is not even a single content area where prospective teachers could come across current practical issues of education system. This phenomenon creates embarrassment and confusion to the prospective teachers when they became a member of education squad.

PEAS will share results, findings and recommendations with stakeholders but particularly with the teacher training institutions to keep abreast with the latest status of the education system.

Review of Text Books and Curriculum

After the 18th amendment text books and curriculums have become a provincial subject. Students and teachers are the major actors in using the text books and curriculums. PEAS has already been analyzing vertically and horizontally about appropriateness and relevance of test books and curriculums in the light of opinions of students and teachers.

PEAS offer its services for the review of textbooks and curriculums in the light of findings of PEAS assessment results with the help of subject experts.

Institutional Evaluation Program (IEP)

Sporadic piece-meal Cognitive Diagnostic Assessment (CDA) of the students in different grades has been undertaken but no serious efforts for School Improvement Plan (SIP) has been initiated for the overall improvement of learning for quality education.

A set of instruments under School Improvement Plan (SIP) will be developed and surveyed. On the basis of data analysis bench marks (standards) will be developed for school improvement plan.
